About Scrigit® – The Essential Scraper Tool

The Scrigit® Scraper is a handy cleaning tool that provides a quick, safe and convenient way to remove small amounts of unwanted substances from household and automotive surfaces. It was developed to fill a large gap in the current market for cleaning tools. There is often a need to quickly clean small spots of unwanted substances or reach into edges, grooves and other tight spaces without damaging the surface being cleaned. Existing scrapers are often too large or have metal blades that could damage many surfaces. These larger scrapers are also not likely be kept in convenient places so they can be reached quickly when needed. Sponges and wipes often cannot reach into edges and grooves and are not effective on substances such as wax and dried on food. Fingernails are often used as a quick scraper tool but can be easily damaged and cannot always reach the area that needs to be scraped. In many cases, you just don’t want to use your finger as a scraper, such as around the base of a toilet.

Scrigit original and wide blade

The design of the Scrigit® Scraper cleaning tool is based on the shape of a fingernail as well as the shape of a pen or mechanical pencil. The size and patented cylindrical shape of the scraper tool is intended to make it easy to hold, carry around and keep in handy places around the house, in a purse, in a pocket and in a car or other vehicle. The rounded wedge shape of the bottom of the tool is excellent for scraping off small spots from flat and curved surfaces and getting into crevices and other small areas. The top end of the tool features a flat-edged scraper for cleaning off slightly larger spots or areas of unwanted materials, particularly on flat surfaces. Usage Tip: It is often helpful to start with the rounded end to break through substances or lift the edges of adhesive labels, and then use the flat end to finish the job.

A major advantage of the Scrigit® Scraper is that its size and shape, similar to a pen or pencil, make it easy to keep handy wherever you might need it, just as you probably keep pens and pencils in many convenient locations. Save your valuable time by keeping Scrigit® Scrapers in your kitchen, bathrooms, workshop, garage, toolbox, office (home or elsewhere), car, boat, RV, motorcycle, purse, and pocket.

What’s with the name?

The Scrigit® name is meant to be a fun and distinctive word that comes from the shortening of scraper and digit (another name for a finger). The name is pronounced the same as digit and widget.

What’s it made out of?packaging_image

The Scrigit® Scraper is made of a durable specially formulated Eastman Tritan™ plastic that is similar in hardness to a fingernail and safe to use on most household and automotive surfaces. Tritan is slightly softer than acrylic plastic, so it can be used to clean Plexiglas® windows and other acrylic plastic surfaces. Scrigit Scrapers can easily be cleaned with soap and water and can be used with common household spray cleaners, including those containing ammonia. It is highly resistant to chemicals such as paint thinner, Goo Gone®, gasoline and acids. It should not be used with chemical solvents, such as nail polish remover (acetone), and should not be used on hot surfaces. Tritan is BPA-free and does not require Proposition 65 labeling in California.

Keep in mind that some materials that you are trying to remove could scratch the surface they are on, so use water or appropriate spray cleaners to soften the materials and scrape carefully.

The Scrigit® Scraper cleaning tool is Made in the U.S.A.
